If you didn&#8217;t catch it last night, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biodiversityinfocus.com\/blog\/2011\/10\/03\/bye-bye-bird-louse\/\" target=\"_blank\">I finally got around to answering the ID challenge from August<\/a>. Pretty depressing it took so long, but September was another busy month with papers submitted, friends defending their PhD&#8217;s, and of course NSERC applications coming due. I was little more than a fly on the blogosphere wall all month, but there was some fantastic things being posted by my fellow insect bloggers. Here are a few I&#8217;d highly recommend checking out:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Guelph alum Matthew Bergeron was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biologygeek.ca\/bloglist.php?id=3\" target=\"_blank\">terrified by some scary looking beetle babies<\/a>,<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/falltoclimb.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Geek in Question<\/a> posted one of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/63015743@N07\/6115407296\/in\/photostream\/\" target=\"_blank\">most amazing insect photos I&#8217;ve seen all year,<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Which she captured at the insect photography event of the year,<a href=\"http:\/\/myrmecos.net\/2011\/09\/06\/bugshot-2011-the-aftermath\/\" target=\"_blank\"> BugShot 2011<\/a>, under the tutelage of masters <a href=\"http:\/\/myrmecos.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Wild<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/thomasshahan.com\/photos\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Shahan<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abbottnaturephotography.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">John Abbott,<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Brigette Zacharczenko (aka the Weird Bug Lady) started <a href=\"http:\/\/caterpillarblog.com\/2011\/09\/19\/lolcaterpillar-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">a fun new meme,<\/a><\/li>\n<li>and BugGirl encouraged her readers to <a href=\"http:\/\/membracid.wordpress.com\/2011\/09\/08\/entomological-limerick-contest\/\" target=\"_blank\">entertain us all with some lewd limericks<\/a>!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The entomological blogging network has been rapidly expanding in recent months, providing me plenty of procrastination material coming into the conference season!
